Kashima Antlers is one of the most popular clubs in Japan and also worldwide known as the "Club of Zico". In 1992, the professional football league (J League) was introduced to Japan and Kashima Antlers is one of the original 10 clubs of the J League. In the same year, a football legend, Zico, joined Kashima to bring the club up to the top level of the J League. 17 Years later, Kashima has won 12 titles, which is the best record of the Japanese professional football history.
Antlers Junior is U12 category of Kashima Antlers and their history also started in 1992. Their style of play has been never changed; work hard, help each other and never give up victory. This is actually the same as the top team and this style originated from Zico. Junior has a good relationship with the top team and three players of the top team are former players of Antlers Junior.
Perhaps the other participating players have more individual skills, but during the tournament they will work very hard and show the Japanese spirit in order to try and win from the top teams in Europe.
This is the very first time for Antlers Junior to go abroad and participate in a respected international tournament; they feel very honored to have been invited. Antlers will come to Holland, not only, for the (cultural) experience, but also to win as many point as possible during Torneo del Futuro!
